Sing, Dance, Love

I like quotes and inspirational sayings. They spur me into creativity, especially when I hit a writers’ block. Recently, I found one that I liked on a small wall plaque. I bought it and hung it by my computer. Then I wondered about who said it originally. So I searched online and discovered it was written by Mark Twain.

"Sing as though no one can hear you.
Dance as though no one is watching you.
Love as though you have never been hurt."

The more I looked at my new wall hanging I decided that perhaps it could be phrased in a much better way.

How about this instead?

Sing—because God hears you.

Sing to God, sing praise to his name, extol him who rides on the clouds-- his name is the LORD-- and rejoice before him. Psalms 68:4 (NIV)

Dance because He’s watching.

Let them praise his name with dancing and make music to him with tambourine and harp. For the LORD takes delight in his people; he crowns the humble with salvation.
Psalms 149:3-4 (NIV)

Love because the Lord’s love for us endures forever.

Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good. His love endures forever.
Psalms 136:1 (NIV)

Will you sing, dance and love today?

Susanne,
Thanks for the reminder today we watch our thoughts carefully. It certainly is the first step to a slow fade.
Love the new cover of the magazine - it's precious!

My niece said the one thing she could always count on with Aunt Lu was I could break out singing at any time, for any reason, in any place. I loved your thoughts on this saying!

One song that I sang whenever life felt overwhelming and tough...I actually would belt it out at the top of my lungs, was an old song that says:
It will be worth it all,
when we see Jesus.
Life's trials will seem so small,
when we see Christ.
One glimpse of His dear face,
All sorrow will erase.
So bravely run the race,
Til we see Christ.

Thanks for giving me a reminder to sing today! Thanks too for giving a copy of your book to my readers! You Rock!
Love ya bunches,
Luann

Susanne,
I just recently found your blog through Proverbs 31. I have been enjoying your posts.
I just wanted to say that I loved your revised version of the Mark Twain plaque that you have. I would definitely buy it if it was made into a plaque!

At my kitchen sink I have these words from the Chris Tomlin song, "The Way I Was Made": "I want to live like there's no tomorrow, I want to dance like no one's around, I want to sing like nobody's listening . . . I want to be the way I was made." God has such great plans for us--I want to be what he has in mind for me.

Susanne I enjoy reading your blogs, as well as the devotional's you write for Ptov. 31
Your revised version of Mark Twain's wall plaque is great.
Dance because God is watching. If everyone realized the meaning of this statement...God is watching...
God is watching us, He walks with us, He knows our every need even before we ask or think.
