Birds in My Mustard Tree

This week I celebrated a birthday--my spiritual birthday. It's been years, but it seems like yesterday when I accepted the grace of Jesus. It was then that my faith started as small as a mustard seed.

However, the Lord has slowly grown my faith. My faith increased through trials, temptations and tragedies. But it has also increased because of God's incredible blessings in my life.

As I review my spiritual life, I am grateful for each small seed, each strenuous step. I praise Him for the blessings of my family who has traveled this journey with me.

My faith began as a small mustard seed, but God has grown the faith seed into a full-fledged faith tree, so large that the birds of blessing have come home to roost.

Thank you, Lord for Your faithfulness.

If we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself.
2 Timothy 2:13 (NIV)

Happy belated Spiritual Birthday! What a wonderful event to celebrate.

I stopped by your blog to tell you how much today's devotion on the legacy of faith we leave our grandchildren meant so much to me. I never had children of my own (infertility, then Sydney Michel was born in to Heaven due to miscarriage), but I raised my husband's daughter from age 6 to 20. Now that she is married, she has given us two precious grandchildren. They are 14 months old and 3 1/2 weeks old. I pray that I truly consider the legacy of faith which is mine to leave them. Thank you for encouraging us in doing this! It's something I will be praying about and letting them see, even from an early age, how so important God is to me.

Yes, I love this. I pray the mustard seed in my heart continues to grow in His tree.

susanne, I shared your book with my retreat attendees and they loved it! I think they will be doing the bible study!

now,about the elections...
I have had many conversations with my grown children about this election and the importance of engaging in the voting process. It is a critical time. For the first time since I have had the privilege of voting we may see the rights that we have come to cherish slowly slip away.

If one party gets control of all 3 legislative branches, with the media firmly entrenched in their camp, the checks and balance system will be threatened.

Our God is mighty and He will prevail through any turmoil we might face. However, he has called us to stand up and stand firm. The shifting sands may cause our nation to stumble but our faith is secure on the Solid Rock.
