Today I am going to babble about Divine Prayers for Despairing Parents. I thought as school begins it might be an appropriate book for parents of teens to read. I wrote this book as source of comfort and hope for parents of children who might be going through a reckless or rebellious stage--which almost every child does.
It contains real life and anecdotal stories throughout the book to give hope to the praying parent and put into words the desperate whispers of the soul. I was once a prodigal child myself who came back to the Lord, and I survived three teenagers of my own. I wrote this book from all of this experience. The devotions in Divine Prayers for Despairing Parents will enable you to establish a new type of spiritual authority in the life of the wandering child through the power of prayer. It will help you to personalize Scripture for your own child and your own quaking heart. This book includes 180 Scriptures to pray your child or grandchild.
Here's the giveaway opportunity. Everyone who posts a comment on today's blog will be entered into a drawing to win a copy of Divine Prayers for Despairing Parents. I will be giving away three books. Good luck!

Fabulous idea, Susanne. Yes, my oldest is 13, entering 8th grade and I know you are familiar with my community and local concerns. May you have a blessed day.

With our second child now entering the teenage years, I WELCOME a new perspective from someone who's lived it and survived it! Thank you for sharing your heart from the experiences God has allowed in your life.

Susanne,
I am so very grateful that my two children weathered the teen years with Jesus as their source of strength. One is now 20, the other 18, and both serve as small group leaders to jr. highschoolers.
They had their share of issues, but ran to the Lord, not from Him. I thank the Lord, of course, but also credit the mission trips they went on as teens to help solidify their faith.
I have some friends who are facing difficult times with their teens. One sweet friend in particular who is grieving a 19 year old son who just left her home two weeks ago. Your book sounds like a perfect fit for her right now.

Our teenagers today need all the prayers and support a parent can give. We live in a scary time, but with God on our teen's side His light can shine through and hold our kids tight. Your book sounds wonderful. Thank you for sharing your personal experiences with us!

Your book needs to get into the hands of more parents of teenagers!I know the heartache of teenage rebellion and of teenagers challenging authority. It is only by the grace of God that a parent can weather the storm!!!! Thank you for sharing and for being willing to encourage others!
Hi, Susanne,
Again, I appreciate your thoughts and thank you for your ministry. Hoo boy, wayward children, they can be teenagers or, as in my case, a 31yo 'child' struggling in life because of wrong choices. But there's nothing God can't 'fix' if a 31yo would allow Him to. May God mightily bless YOUR day.
Thank you for your desire to help parents! With one of our sons entering high school, and the other son entering seventh grade, we can use all of the help we can get! Wanted to tell you, too, what a blessing your blog has been to me. Your love for Christ and for people comes shining through!
God Bless!
